Kelsey Flanagan

ASSOCIATE

Kelsey is an associate at Henein Hutchison Robitaille LLP, where her practice focuses on criminal and regulatory litigation. She is a fierce defender of her clients’ rights and a relentless advocate in pursuit of their interests. She is also a certified workplace investigator with experience investigating serious, complex, and high-profile matters that frequently involve allegations of regulatory non-compliance and/or physical and sexual violence. She is a contributing author of Hutchison’s Search Warrant Manual and the firm’s lead editorial researcher on issues related to section 8 of the Charter.

 

Prior to joining Henein Hutchison Robitaille LLP, Kelsey completed her articles as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. She also worked as a summer student at a full-service law firm in Stratford, Ontario.

 

Kelsey obtained her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Ottawa. During law school, she was the Executive Editor of the Ottawa Law Review. She participated in the Mediation Competition for Effective Lawyer-Client Relations and Teamwork, where she and her teammate placed first. She also interned for a criminal defence firm in Ottawa, worked for the University of Ottawa’s Legal Writing Academy, and volunteered for the University of Ottawa’s Social Justice Caucus. Prior to attending law school, Kelsey earned a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in International Development and Biology, with distinction, from the University of Guelph.

 

Kelsey grew up outside of Dublin, Ontario. She is a member of the Criminal Lawyers’ Association and The Advocates’ Society. She is also an active member of the Executive for the Ontario Bar Association’s Criminal Justice Section.
